We are not a 200-bed facility where you're a chart number. Our Biddeford program is intentionally small, so your therapist actually knows your name, your family, and what you said last Tuesday. Individualized care is only possible at human scale.

Our story
Built in Biddeford, for Southern Maine
Portland Treatment was created to close a gap we kept seeing in our own communities: people in York and Cumberland County who needed real, structured addiction treatment but couldn't, or shouldn't, disappear into a faraway facility for months. Parents with kids to pick up. Workers with jobs to keep. People who needed help that fit a life, not a pause from one.
So we built the full outpatient continuum under one roof in Biddeford: a partial hospitalization program for the highest structure outside inpatient care, an intensive outpatient program that bends around work and family, an outpatient program for ongoing support, and medication-assisted treatment integrated throughout. And when someone needs detox, residential treatment, or sober living beyond what we provide, our case managers walk them into trusted partner programs and welcome them back for step-down care.
Every clinician on our team, from our executive leadership to our primary therapists, was chosen for the same combination: clinical credentials and genuine human warmth. Several of us are in recovery ourselves. All of us believe treatment should feel like being witnessed, not processed.
